Fashion Policy Counsel and Professor Kenya Wiley participated in the annual Fashion Law Africa Summit on June 12—alongside business leaders and experts from the United Nations, Meta, PVH and CLO Virtual Fashion. Kenya joined the panel discussion on law and ethics, where she discussed the African Growth and Opportunity Act, legal challenges in addressing cultural appropriation, and the role of education in preventing future missteps and increasing supplier diversity. Kenya also highlighted the importance of data privacy in fashion tech and ethics, particularly for ESG programs—given the vast amounts of data collected through ecommerce and the metaverse.
