by | Nov 11, 2022 | Fashion Law, Social Justice

Policy Counsel and Professor Kenya Wiley presented at the Fashion Law Institute’s recent panel on Designing Diversity After Affirmative Action, alongside fashion law attorneys and industry professionals from the Fashion Scholarship Fund and the SPARC Group—which includes Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Lucky Brand, Nautica and Reebok. Kenya discussed the legal and policy implications and challenges for building a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline if the Supreme Court strikes down the flexibility for universities to consider race among other factors in the admissions process. Kenya also noted how brands and retailers that have been doing the work will continue to embrace diversity, but those that have only had performative actions will likely regress.
