Fashion Policy Counsel and Professor Kenya Wiley participated in the 2022 Textile Exchange Conference in November—celebrating the 20th anniversary of Textile Exchange and the courageous pathway to positive climate action. Kenya joined the panel discussion on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in accelerating sustainability, alongside Sandra Gonza, Strategy & Business Impact Lead, Tailwind; and Corneil Montgomery, Founder + CE0, Sovereignty Co. Inc. Kenya discussed why DEI must be included in every part of fashion’s supply chain, including contract talent. Kenya also highlighted the importance of government policy and fashion’s talent pipeline in universities and accelerator programs in making sustainable change.
